A collection of Heiken Ashi indicators for NinjaTrader 8; the indicators allow to overlay the default chart with a Heiken Ashi chart. Colors and design of the Heiken Ashi candles are fully configurable.

Description

TradeFab’s Heiken Ashi indicators were developed for NinjaTrader 8. It can be added as an indicator to the main chart, which overlays the default candle/line chart.

The following indicators are included:

  • HeikenAshi8 – standard implementation of Heiken Ashi candles to overlay with default chart
  • HeikenAshiSmoothed – EMA smoothened Heiken Ashi candles to overlay with default chart

The Heiken Ashi candle/box colors and the EMA settings for the smoothed Heikin Ashi indicator are fully configurable.

How To Use

  1. Open a new chart window in NinjaTrader and select the instrument and timeframe.
  2. In the chart window click on the Indicators icon
  3. In the “Available” window, select TradeFab/HeikenAshi8 or TradeFab/HeikenAshiSmoothed and double-click on it; a new indicator instance is being created by NinjaTrader and added to the “Configured” window.
  4. Select the added indicator instance in the “Configured” window, change default parameters if needed, and click on OK.
  5. Now the indicator gets activated by NinjaTrader

Requirements

  1. The indicator is written for NinjaTrader 8. So you need to install NinjaTrader 8, version 8.0.x or greater (download from here).
  2. NinjaTrader 8 has minimum system requirements, which are defined here.

Installation

  1. Save the provided zip-file (no need to unzip) to the location of your choice
  2. Go to NinjaTrader menu Tools => Import => NinjaScript Add-On…
  3. Select the saved zip-file in the opened dialog
  4. NinjaTrader will guide you through the installation. At the end there should be a success message.
  5. Restart NinjaTrader

NOTE: If you have a previous version installed, before installing the new one, you need to uninstall the old one first!
